Yes โ€” LifeCompanion is completely free to download and use. All core features including habit tracking, the morning routine, meditation timer, medicine reminders, and the vitality ribbon are free with no time limits.

We may introduce optional premium features in the future, but the core app will always remain free.

No account required. Open the app, complete a short onboarding, and you're ready. There's no sign-up, no email, no password.

All your data lives on your device. The trade-off is that if you switch devices, your history doesn't transfer automatically โ€” we plan to add cloud backup in a future update.

Yes. LifeCompanion is built with Flutter and is available on both the Apple App Store (iOS 14+) and Google Play (Android 8.0+).

The Vitality Ribbon is a 7-day colour strip on your home screen that shows your habit completion at a glance. Each segment represents one day โ€” the colour tells you how much you completed:

Grey = no activity ยท Amber = getting started ยท Green = good day ยท Deep green = excellent day

The ribbon updates live as you complete habits. A ๐Ÿ”ฅ streak badge appears when you have 3 or more strong days in a row.

Tap the + tile at the end of the quick-action row on the home screen. You can set a name, icon, colour, type (counter, checklist, timer, or numeric), and daily goal. Custom habits appear alongside the built-in ones.

Yes. Tap any dot on the day timeline to open the activity popup, then use the delete option. For habit logs, go to the Reports or Log detail screen where individual entries can be removed.

The streak badge on the vitality ribbon requires completion above 50% of your active habits for each consecutive day. If you had a day with low activity (below that threshold), the streak will restart from the next active day.

Individual habit streaks (shown on habit detail cards) are calculated separately and only require at least one log per day for that specific habit.

The Longevity Score is a projected bonus in years added to your baseline life expectancy based on the healthy habits you complete today. It is not a medical prediction โ€” it is a motivational estimate based on well-established research into lifestyle and longevity.

Each habit carries a weighted contribution: exercise, meditation, medicine adherence, hydration, and fasting each add a different amount. Missing key habits can apply small deductions. The score updates live throughout your day as you log activity.

Tapping the Morning tile launches a fully guided session with 7 traditional exercises, each running for 80 seconds. The session advances automatically โ€” you don't need to tap anything. A 10-second rest screen appears between exercises.

Background music plays automatically. You can pause the session at any time or stop it early. The session is approximately 10 minutes total. If you have GIF files for the exercises in the correct asset folder, they will display during each exercise.

A few things can prevent notifications from arriving:

1. Notification permission may have been denied โ€” check Settings โ†’ LifeCompanion โ†’ Notifications and ensure they are enabled.

2. Do Not Disturb or Focus mode may have silenced the notification.

3. On Android, battery optimisation can kill background processes โ€” go to Settings โ†’ Battery โ†’ LifeCompanion and disable optimisation.

Important: Never rely solely on app notifications for critical medications. Always maintain an independent system for managing important medicines.

Tap the Fasting tile to start a fast. A countdown timer begins and a timeline event is created. When you end your fast (by tapping the tile again), the duration is logged. You can set fasting targets (16:8, 18:6, 24h, or custom) in the fasting tile settings.

No. All health data โ€” habits, logs, medication schedules, meditation sessions, longevity scores โ€” is stored exclusively in a local database on your device. It is never uploaded to any server.

The only external calls the app makes are to a weather API (to show local conditions on your timeline), which sends only your approximate location โ€” no personal health data is ever attached to this call.

No. LifeCompanion contains no advertisements and no ad tracking SDKs. We chose to keep the app ad-free because we believe health data and advertising don't belong together.

All locally stored data is permanently deleted from your device when you uninstall the app. We hold no copies of your data on any server, so there is nothing for us to delete on our end.

If your device has iCloud or Google backup enabled, a backup copy may exist in your cloud storage โ€” you can delete this manually from your device's backup settings.

  1. Open device Settings โ†’ Apps โ†’ LifeCompanion
  2. Tap Notifications and enable "Allow notifications"
  3. On Android: go to Battery โ†’ disable battery optimisation for the app
  4. Ensure Do Not Disturb is not blocking the app
  5. Re-add the medicine entry inside the app to reschedule the notification

๐ŸŒค๏ธ Weather not showing

  1. Check that location permission is granted: Settings โ†’ LifeCompanion โ†’ Location โ†’ "While Using"
  2. Ensure you have an active internet connection
  3. Pull down to refresh the home screen
  4. If the issue persists, disable and re-enable weather in the app settings

๐Ÿ“‰ Longevity score not updating

  1. Ensure habits are being logged via the correct tiles (not just viewed)
  2. The score updates within a few seconds of each log โ€” wait a moment
  3. Force-close the app and reopen it
  4. Check that your date of birth is entered correctly in your profile

๐ŸŽต No sound in exercise session

  1. Check your device's volume is not muted (including media volume separately)
  2. Ensure the music toggle in the session's top-right corner is enabled
  3. Check that the audio file exercise_music.mp3 is present in the app's asset bundle โ€” it may not be included in all builds
  4. Restart the session

๐ŸŒ… Morning routine not advancing

  1. Ensure the app is in the foreground โ€” background timers may be throttled by the OS
  2. Check that battery optimisation is not killing the app mid-session
  3. If the timer appears frozen, tap Pause then Resume to reset the tick
  4. Force-close and reopen the session

  1. Force-close the app and reopen it
  2. Ensure your OS is up to date (iOS 14+ / Android 8.0+ required)
  3. Uninstall and reinstall the app (note: this will delete all local data)

๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ Deleting your data

Because LifeCompanion stores all data locally on your device and requires no account, you are always in full control of your data. There is nothing stored on our servers to delete.

To delete all data immediately

  1. Uninstall LifeCompanion from your device.
  2. All habits, logs, health records, and settings are permanently deleted from your device.
  3. If you use iCloud or Google backup, also remove the app's backup data from your cloud storage settings.

To delete specific entries without uninstalling

  1. For timeline events: tap the dot on the timeline, then tap the delete icon in the popup.
  2. For habit logs: navigate to Reports โ†’ select the habit โ†’ delete individual entries.
  3. For custom habits: go to the habit settings and tap "Delete habit" to remove it and all its history.
  4. For your profile: go to Profile settings and use "Reset profile" to clear personal details.
